Libya suspended from U.N. Human Rights Council

This is the first time that a country has been suspended from the General Assembly of the U.N. Human Rights Council.

The United Nations General Assembly has unanimously voted to suspend Libya from the U.N. Human Rights Council in the wake of continuing attacks on pro-democracy protesters there by Muammar Qadhafi’s regime.
